These orchids are native to tropical Africa, especially Madagascar, and Indian Ocean islands. Many have gleaming <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2014\/05\/17\/night-fragrant-orchids\/\">white flowers<\/a>, scentless during the day, but with rich scents at night. Sadly, many are endangered due to habitat destruction, illegal poaching, and climate change. The most famous angraecoid is certainly <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2009\/02\/12\/darwins-orchid\/\">Darwin&#8217;s Orchid<\/a>, with a flower that&#8217;s evolved for a moth with a very long tongue. Angraecoids include <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2010\/05\/26\/angraecum\/\">Angraecums<\/a>, Aerangis, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2014\/07\/05\/eurychone-a-tropical-african-orchid\/\">Eurychones<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2010\/04\/09\/jumellea\/\">Jumelleas<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2012\/07\/09\/mystacidium\/\">Mystacidiums<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2010\/03\/17\/oeoniella\/\">Oeoniellas<\/a>, and other closely related species. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.angraecoids.org\/photos.html\" target=\"_blank\">Check out the Angraecoid Alliance site for more pictures.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Angraecoid Alliance promotes habitat conservation in Madagascar and tropical Africa, and educates orchid lovers how to best grow these plants in their own collections.
