They offer the same advice as me: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2012\/01\/04\/hold-the-ice\/\">don&#8217;t use ice with orchids!<\/a> Their article debunks arguments made by the pro-ice set. Proper orchid culture doesn&#8217;t involve freezing. It includes thorough drenchings with room-temperature <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/care\/details\/water.html\">water<\/a> and great drainage. Orchids watered with ice may survive, but they often don&#8217;t thrive. Many are in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/care\/details\/potting.html\">pots<\/a> without drainage holes, and the frigid water from a few ice cubes doesn&#8217;t drown them. If your orchid is in a flowerpot with no drainage holes, then <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/care\/details\/potting.html\">repot it<\/a> into one with holes.
