The 1863 building has been repaired many times, but this time it was thoroughly modernized.\u00a0The Temperate Greenhouse dwarfs the nearby <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2015\/08\/13\/exploring-the-palm-house-at-kew-gardens\/\">Palm House<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2015\/08\/24\/the-princess-of-wales-conservatory\/\">Princess of Wales Conservatory<\/a>. Thousands of plants, many endangered, have been returned from temporary homes after a 5-year renovation.
