They have their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/20\/latin-orchid-names\/\">Latin names<\/a>, which can be daunting. Understandably, many people are intimidated by long, scientific words. Fortunately, not all of them are difficult. Check out this list of 10 orchids with Latin names that you don&#8217;t have to stumble over.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2011\/01\/04\/ada\/\"><strong>Ada<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; This genus has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2020\/08\/07\/why-do-orchid-names-change\/\">renamed<\/a> as Brassia, which is also included in this post. Some are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/category\/cool-growers\/\">cool growers<\/a>, like the brilliant orange Ada pictured below.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2012\/05\/27\/chinese-ground-orchid\/\"><strong>Bletilla<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; Bletillas, or Chinese Ground Orchids, are good garden plants. They can be very striking, like the white blooms below.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aos.org\/explore\/ida\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Ida<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; This is another uncommon genus.
