That&#8217;s a shame, because the park has plenty to see. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.conservatoryofflowers.org\/\">Conservatory of Flowers<\/a> is a stunningly beautiful building, both inside and out. It&#8217;s a quick walk from the orchids at another shining jewel of the park, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/2009\/06\/13\/rainforest-in-a-bubble\/\">the Academy of Sciences<\/a>. Built in 1878, the Conservatory is on the National Register of Historic Places. Its design was inspired by the Palm House at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kew.org\/\">Kew Royal Botanic Gardens<\/a> in London.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Conservatory of Flowers and gardens\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/conservatory_1_800px.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/conservatory_1_800px.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"Conservatory of Flowers and gardens\" \/><\/a><a title=\"Conservatory of Flowers entrance\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/conservatory_2_800px.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/conservatory_2_800px.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"Conservatory of Flowers entrance\" \/><\/a><a title=\"Conservatory inside view\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/conservatory_3_800px.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/conservatory_3_800px.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"Conservatory inside view\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Among its thousands of rainforest plants spread between 5 exhibits, the Conservatory keeps lots of orchids on display. These <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/identify\/orchids\/cattleya.html\">Cattleya<\/a> hybrids added bright colors and sweet scents during a recent visit.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Cattleya hybrid\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/cattleya_hybrid_1_640px.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/cattleya_hybrid_1_640px.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"Cattleya hybrid\" \/><\/a><a title=\"Cattleya hybrid\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/cattleya_hybrid_2_640px.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/cattleya_hybrid_2_640px.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"Cattleya hybrid\" \/><\/a><a title=\"Potinara flowers\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/potinara_burana_beauty_640px.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/potinara_burana_beauty_640px.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"Potinara flowers\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Large <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/identify\/orchids\/vanda.html\">Vanda<\/a> flowers bloom in the Aquatic Plants Gallery, where the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aboutorchids.com\/care\/details\/humidity.html\">humidity<\/a> is always high.
